What is the Best Option to Replace a Tooth?
Many patients ask us – What is the best option to replace a tooth? Implants are typically considered the best option for restoring a missing tooth both aesthetically and durability wise. A dental implant fitted with a crown is a long lasting option that can be used for a single tooth, multiple teeth or an entire smile.
At Dr. Ramon Bana’s dental office, we try to make the process as quick as possible. The typical process for completion of a Miami dental implant is usually completed in multiple office visits. Around 3 to 4 visits should suffice and most people can return to work after each visit.
Dental Implant Process
- Consultation and initial exam. We will conduct a thorough exam of your situation, answer questions and review your medical history. We will also discuss the best possible treatment options for your situation.
- The next visit will consist of a dental implant. The implant is a substitute for the missing natural tooth root. A temporary tooth can be placed while the dental implant integrates with you natural bone to form a strong foundation for your replacement tooth.
- On the following visit, we will place the abutment, a connector placed on, or built into the top of the implant that will attach to the replacement tooth. In some situations, we’ll place the abutment on the prior visit.
- Finally, we’ll place the custom made crown (replacement tooth).
